Week 12 (Mar. 19 – 25)

52 Weeks :: Week 12

12.1: Cinnamon Rolls
The girls insist on being able to see whatever is in the oven while it is baking. Today it was cinnamon rolls for them. Gran gave us the idea to make semi-homemade cinnamon rolls that the girls could eat (using the crescent roll dough in a tube – it is dairy/egg free – then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar before making the rolls). The girls gobbled it up.

52 Weeks :: Week 12

12.1: Still Not Fun
Tessa still isn’t a fan of bath time just yet. We gave her one in the sink today, just like her older sister did at 10 weeks. Maybe she will like bath time better in the baby bathtub.

52 Weeks :: Week 12

12.2: 4 Weeks Old

  • baby acne is here (on her face). 😦 Good-bye pretty soft newborn skin.
  • the skin on her scalp is flaky… hopefully that isn’t a sign of things to come.
    • And to document the above two skin problems better, here is another picture where they are more noticeable… poor baby skin. 😦
      52 Weeks :: Week 12 [Baby Acne]
  • she still sleeps a lot and does her best sleeping during the day (in the swing), but really isn’t too bad at night. (I’m so tired at night that I couldn’t even tell you how many times she wakes or when she does).
  • she is very content in the car seat and riding in the car (read: she sleeps)
  • she routinely spits up right after you change her clothes
  • she is no longer projectile vomiting on a daily basis (yay!)
  • when awake and alert, she tries to hold her head up a lot
  • is very noisy (lots of grunts and *squeaks*) when she is awake or when she in the process of waking up or going to sleep
  • hasn’t caught the cold her sisters have
  • now in size 1 diapers

52 Weeks :: Week 12

12.3: Really?!
One the first day of spring, Mother Nature gave us… SNOW! The day before the first day of spring, our high temp was 71°. Then in the afternoon of the first day of spring we got about an inch of snow. The snow stuck around till the next day and the girls were very excited to go out and play in it (creating snow graffiti on our fence).

We made our way to the park on this windy day and the girls had fun going down the little slide two-at-a-time.

52 Weeks :: Week 12

12.5: ROYGBIV
Mallory 4th birthday is in two weeks and it is all that Mallory can talk about. She is most excited about her party. She’s having a small art-themed party, inviting just a few friends, mostly from school. Lucia finished the invites today and they are now ready to be mailed.

12.7: Z is for Zebra
Mallory’s preschool had their Fashion Show today. This year, her teachers combined Letter People day with the Fashion Show. Mallory picked the letter Z which coincidentally made her outfit nearly identical to last year’s fashion show outfit. At least she had some zebra-themed clothes for the letter Z this year. That’s all we could come up for the letter Z, aside from the zig-zag part in her hair. Maybe next year we’ll be more creative!
