4.1: Day at the Zoo
The weather has been so nice this week so we decided to take advantage of it and go to the Fort Worth Zoo on Friday. Lucia packed the girls’ lunches and headed out in the morning and, since the girls were good and having a good time, we didn’t leave the zoo until 3:30 which was 30 minutes before closing time. We managed to see just about every exhibit and animal there.
While Chelsea liked seeing the animals and had fun, it was Mallory who really loved being at the zoo today. She used the map to point out certain animals that she wanted to see (zebras and alligators were first on her list) and she knew a little about a lot of the animals we saw. It’s fun to see how she’s changed since her first trips to the zoo (we first took her to the San Diego zoo when she was 17 months and we had season passes to the FW zoo in 2008). Such a marked change from age two to age almost four.
Since I took a lot of pictures during our visit, I couldn’t pick just one or two as our picture of the day. Instead all of these pictures (above and below) will be in one spread in the photo album (usually an entire week’s worth of photos go into one spread).
^This lion could be heard roaring all day throughout the zoo. We overheard someone say that perhaps he did it because he was lonely. He was all by myself in the habitat. The lionesses were in a separate area.
