Our first baby girl is TWO! Getting so big, but she’s still our baby. She doesn’t seem two and that may have to do with the fact that she doesn’t talk much, so that makes her seem younger than she is.
We celebrated Mallory’s birthday a few days early since Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Carrie and her cousins were visiting this past weekend for Chelsea’s baptism. We had a very small celebration which included streamers, balloons, presents with lots of paper to tear off, birthday Jello, blowing out candles and playing with new toys.
I wanted Mallory to know that it was her special day, so I hung streamers from her door that she would see when she woke up in the morning.
Daddy got her balloons to play with. She loves balloons so this was a real treat for her. She held onto one balloon string throughout lunch.
She opened many gifts. She wasn’t interested in the actual presents so much initially, but really liked tearing the paper off of them.
Our solution to no cake and ice cream was Jello for Mallory (the rest of us ate cake though). I put two candles in the Jello and she eventually blew them out after we sang to her. Her 3.5 year old cousin Carson commented that he had never had “birthday Jello” before and thought it was a little different, but still ok.
I think she had a great birthday weekend. She especially enjoyed having extra family to hang out with — her cousins, grandparents and aunt.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! We love you!
