I had a minor panic attack two days ago, realizing that I hadn’t done much to get ready for the baby’s arrival. The carseat/infant carrier is ready (newly washed and adjusted for a newborn) but that is about it. After a day of a tight belly (Braxton-Hicks contractions, I think??), I kinda freaked, worried it meant that the baby would be coming soon. So yesterday I pulled out Mallory’s newborn and 0-3 month clothes, took the tags off the new — mostly pink — clothes we got from Jonathan’s co-workers at our shower this week and washed everything. It was funny to look at the pile of tiny clothes and think that someone equally as tiny will be wearing them shortly. I also washed the bassinet linens and got it set up in our bedroom. Now, I need to pack my hospital bag and stock our pantry and fridge with food Mallory can eat. Gran and Gramps fly in today, so my anxiety has settled some because they can stay with her at the house if we happen to need to leave in the middle of the night to head to the hospital.
