I couldn’t stand the uncertainty of not knowing for sure if our next child is a girl, so I made an appointment for a 2D ultrasound at Stork Vision, a prenatal imaging center. The appointment was scheduled for today, a Saturday, so that meant the whole family could go.
When we arrived the office was running [...]

It’s…

… not a boy!
Huh?
Ok, so that’s not really what the doctor said during the ultrasound, but that’s how I took it. The doctor spent a lot of time looking for boy parts. He didn’t find any, so he figured the baby is a girl. Girls are more than “not a boy;” girls have parts [...]
In less than a week…

…actually in just five days, we will get another peek at the baby to see how he/she is growing and hopefully find out the gender (I’ll be 18 weeks then). Of course, we will be happy with either outcome and just want a healthy baby in the end. But naturally, thinking of the future with [...]
Surprised, to say the least…

I’ve been a little preoccupied lately because of this:
On Father’s Day, Jonathan (and I) got an extra special gift of finding out that we are expecting our third child. And I may end up with an extra special gift on my birthday next year (2/22) since the due date is 2/24 (Chelsea came one day [...]

Our new baby girl being checked out by the nurse just minutes after her birth. We think she looks a lot like Mallory although her hair is lighter than Mal’s was and she has less than Mal did.
We’ll take many more pictures in the next few days and post them soon.
True or False?

8:51 pm — As I sit here and type this, I am having a contraction. I have been having them since about noon today — on and off and not quite regular or painful enough to warrant going to the hospital. For about 2 hours today they were coming about every 6 minutes and lasting [...]

I had another appointment today. My body is still making progress toward having this baby girl which is good (now 2 centimeters dilated). We also discussed induction. I have a lot of anxiety about being induced (from my experience with Mallory’s birth since they basically had to induce me after my water broke and my [...]

I had a minor panic attack two days ago, realizing that I hadn’t done much to get ready for the baby’s arrival. The carseat/infant carrier is ready (newly washed and adjusted for a newborn) but that is about it. After a day of a tight belly (Braxton-Hicks contractions, I think??), I kinda freaked, [...]
Some Progress

I had my 38 week appointment today (actually, I am one day shy of 38 weeks). From the looks of things, my body isn’t ready to go into labor anytime soon, but it’s working on it (last week I was a fingertip dilated, this week 1 cm). So, some progress made, but nothing to indicate [...]
To do before the baby arrives

The days until “baby sister’s” arrival are quickly dwindling (to date there are 61 days until the due date of January 2). We’ve taken care of getting a few big things done, namely finishing Mallory’s big girl room. We have just a few small things to do before she arrives. The most important being deciding [...]
