Chelsea at One Month

Chelsea is already a month old, if you can believe it. It has flown by for us. I think being in the hospital for 5 days sped things up somewhat. We’ve had some ups and downs this month for sure.
The ups:
• she has recovered from RSV. She occasionally still coughs, so I think [...]

Everyone was sick at some point during the month of January. Many days we didn’t get out of PJs. With that in mind, we figured it appropriate to have Mal wear her PJs for this month’s rocking chair picture. Check out her new pink plaid shoes that she’s wearing. Too cute. When she [...]

We’re home!

Chelsea was discharged this morning and now we are home! I’ll write more later, after I get a nap in and get her antibiotics from Target. We’re pooped!
Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers. They mean so much!

Update on Chelsea

It looks like there’s a possibility of Chelsea going home tomorrow! She’s doing better, for the most part.
They weaned her completely off the oxygen at noon and her stats are good on room air. If she does well through the night, then she’ll have met one of the requirements to go home.

Back in the Hospital :(

On Sunday night the 13th, I took Chelsea to the pediatric urgent care center because I was worried she wasn’t eating enough and was getting dehydrated. I took her to the doctor today and so far she only has a cold; if we’re lucky that’s all it will be considering that it’s [...]

First Bath

Chelsea got her first sponge bath on the 5th when she was 4 days old. She HATED it, as you can see.
Mallory loves taking baths and has for awhile. What fun the girls will have when they can take baths together.

Update on the invalids

The invalids finally went to the doctor today to get some relief and it’s a good thing we did.
I went to walk-in clinic, initially to get relief from the immense pain I was in that started last night. I must have strained or fractured a rib from the coughing. Taking a breath and moving are [...]

Thriving & Not So Much

No new pictures, but I wanted to post an update from Chelsea’s first doctor’s appointment. Apparently she’s a good eater because she weighed in at 7 pounds 14 ounces today. That’s 4 ounces more than her birth weight. She had dropped to 7 pounds 2 ounces when we left the hospital. The pediatrician was hoping [...]

The first couple of days at home with both girls have been interesting. It’s been harder than it should have been because everyone but Jonathan and Chelsea is sick. I have a cold (basically a nasty, nasty cough) that I’ve been fighting for about a week. Mallory caught my cold which has left her with [...]
